State police said troopers took cover behind their cruiser Friday when a Butler County man allegedly pointed a rifle at them.
State police said in a press release that Butler patrol units went to Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township shortly before 2 p.m. because of a dispute between neighbors. Troopers learned that a gun was involved.
Upon their arrival, state police said the suspect, Joshua Campbell, 44, refused to comply with commands. He allegedly told troopers he had a firearm and eventually pulled a rifle out of his house.
Campbell allegedly pointed the firearm in the direction of multiple troopers, who took cover behind a cruiser.
Campbell was arrested and taken to the Butler County jail. He is charged with aggravated and simple assault and terroristic threats.
