There were no new deaths in Allegheny County from covid-19 since Saturday, but there were 12 additional cases, the Allegheny County Health Department reported Sunday morning.

The number of people who have died from covid-19 remains at 102, the county health department said Sunday. Of that number, 92 are listed as confirmed cases of covid-19, while 10 are considered probable.

The new count of covid-19 cases brings the total number cases to 1,345 since the first case was reported in the county on March 14. The 12 new cases are in addition to the 10 new cases reported on Saturday. Forty-eight percent of all covid-19 cases were people older than 50, the county said.

There has been 238 hospitalizations in the county since the first case was reported, one more than on Saturday. That count includes including 101 cases that were treated in intensive care units and 61 that required a ventilator, the same as on Saturday.

A case is listed as probable when a person displays symptoms of covid-19 and has had close contact with a confirmed positive case, but has not had a test themselves. The county health department is including those probable cases to assess community spread.

More than 18,172 people have been tested for the coronavirus in Allegheny County.

Richland Township had the most cases in any municipality outside the City of Pittsburgh — 77, for an infection rate of 69 per 10,000 people. By contrast, rural Forward Township reported only two cases for a rate of 5.9 per 10,000.

Editor’s note: A previous version of the story and headline had an incorrect number.
