Stevenson, 6-foot-5, 217 pounds, can play defensive end or linebacker. He is rated a two-star prospect by Rivals.com and had offers from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Miami, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Michigan, among many others.
A student at Phoebus High School in Hampton, Va., he originally had committed to Old Dominion.
Pitt has verbal commitments from four members of the class of 2021, including West Mifflin defensive end Nahki Johnson, running back Rodney Hammond of Norfolk, Va., and defensive back Javon McIntyre of Philadelphia.
They can sign binding letters of intent in December.
