Highlands School District has delayed a special meeting to fill a vacancy on the school board.

A seat in Region 2 became vacant when Misty Chybrzynski, former board president, resigned upon moving out of the region. Region 2 includes Brackenridge and the Natrona area of Harrison.

The board had scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. March 30 in the library at Highlands High School in Harrison to interview candidates and vote to fill the vacancy.

The meeting has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. April 7 in the high school library, according to a legal advertisement.

Applications for the seat were due by noon Monday.

It’s unknown how many people applied. District officials — including Superintendent Monique Mawhinney, spokeswoman Jennifer Goldberg and school board Vice President Bobbie Neese — did not respond to repeated inquiries regarding the vacancy.
