Another new case and three presumptive positive cases of covid-19 have been confirmed in Allegheny County, officials announced Tuesday morning.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Allegheny County to seven.

The new confirmed case is a patient in their 60s who is hospitalized. The health department said it is working to confirm how the person contracted the coronavirus.

The other three cases are listed as presumptive because they were tested by a lab that just recently began testing. The county said the “presumptive” label will be dropped when the lab meets necessary requirements.

The county said the three presumptive positive patients are young adults over the age of 18 who are in isolation at home. Two acquired the virus from recent international travel, and the other got it from domestic travel.

The state Department of Health has confirmed 96 cases of covid-19 in Pennsylvania. The state’s numbers do not necessarily include all cases confirmed by individual counties.

The first two cases of covid-19 in Allegheny County were reported Saturday.

At least one case in Allegheny County is being treated in the hospital, while others are in isolation in their homes.
