The Pittsburgh Penguins and Aramark, the management service which operates PPG Paints Arena, have donated 2,000 pounds of perishable food items from the building over the past few days to 412 Food Rescue for distribution to local organizations and neighbors in need.

A release from the Penguins claims the food would have otherwise spoiled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which has paused the NHL season as well as other events which would be staged at PPG Paints Arena.

412 Food Rescue is a local agency that connects restaurants and food service organizations to food shelters and pantries.
