A man was in critical condition after being shot in Pittsburgh’s East Hills neighborhood late Wednesday night, according to city police.

Officers responded to an alert of shots fired in the 8400 block of Frankstown Road just before midnight.

The ShotSpotter system detected more than 30 shots being fired, police said.

Officers were seen going in and out of Simmie’s Restaurant & Lounge and checking out cars in the parking lot, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported.

The department said officers found the man several blocks away near Bennett and Oakwood streets. He was taken to a hospital.

Police said multiple shell casings were found.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 412-323-7800.
