An Indiana County driver faces a hefty speeding ticket after state police said he was driving 63 mph over the speed limit on Route 22 last month.

A 43-year-old Armagh man was clocked driving a 2009 Subaru Outback at 118 mph in a 55 mph zone in East Wheatfield Township on Jan. 23. The driver was stopped by a trooper who was using a radar gun at 4:03 p.m., said Trooper Cliff Greenfield.

The Armagh man pleaded not guilty and is set for a March 6 summary trial, according to online court records. He was cited for speeding and careless driving.

Drivers found in violation are subject to a $35 fine plus $2 per mile for speeds exceeding 5 mph over the posted speed limit, in addition to court costs.
