Pittsburghers will have nonstop access to Indianapolis starting this summer as Contour Airlines plans a daily flight out of Pittsburgh International Airport.
The 80-minute, early afternoon flights to Indianapolis International Airport will begin June 10, according to an announcement last week. Passengers will ride on an Embraer Regional Jet that has 30 seats and 36 inches of legroom.
Nonstop service to Indianapolis hasn’t been available to Pittsburgh travelers since 2018, according to airport officials. Contour Airlines is based in Tennessee.
“The addition of Pittsburgh to our network is in keeping with our mission to connect large short-haul markets that lack nonstop service,” CEO Matt Chaifetz said in the announcement. “We certainly see Pittsburgh as a market ripe for Contour service to additional important business destinations.”
Contour also announced the addition of two other flights connecting Indianapolis with St. Louis and Nashville. The regional carrier serves airports around the country.
