New Year celebrations continue at the Monroeville Public Library with the ringing in of the Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year, on Saturday, January 25. Lunar New Year is celebrated during the second new moon after the winter solstice, usually between January 21 and February 20 on the Gregorian calendar. 2020 is the Year of the Rat. Highlight of the MPL celebration was the Dragon Parade through the library bookstacks. Spencer Eibeck, 9, challenges his sister, Harper, 4, to a battle between the origami rats.
