With forward Sidney Crosby expected to rejoin the active roster in advance of Tuesday’s home game against the Minnesota Wild, the Pittsburgh Penguins assigned forward Joseph Blandisi to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

Blandisi, 25, has appeared in 21 games this season and has five points (two goals three assists). In 13 AHL games, he has seven points (three goals, four assists).

This season, Blandisi has gotten accustomed to driving from the southwestern corner of the Pennsylvania to the northeastern quadrant of the Commonwealth as he has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton six times.
