Penguins forward Joseph Blandisi has cleared waivers.

It is the third time this season — including the preseason — Blandisi has gone through waivers and cleared.

In 21 games this season, Blandisi has five points (two goals, three assists). He was a healthy scratch for Tuesday’s 4-3 win at the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Penguins now have the option of assigning Blandisi to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. Speaking with reporters in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan indicated Blandisi would remain on the NHL roster if he cleared waivers.
