The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to activate forward Patric Hornqvist from injured reserve in advance of Saturday’s game against the Nashville Predators at PPG Paints Arena.
Sidelined for the past 10 games, Hornqvist has not played since suffering a right knee injury on Nov. 30. He was a full participant in a morning skate at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday.
In 20 games this season, he has 11 points (six goals, five assists).
With Hornqvist being activated, the Penguins still have forwards Nick Bjugstad (core muscle), Sidney Crosby (core muscle) and defenseman Brian Dumoulin (left ankle) on injured reserve.
To make room for him on the roster, the team assigned forward Thomas Di Pauli to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. The team recalled Di Pauli one day prior. He has yet to play an NHL game in his career. In 19 AHL games this season, Di Pauli has nine points (four goals, five assists).
