The Penguins will start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Tuesday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at PPG Paints Arena.
Jarry enters the contest with a shutout sequence of 144:51, including back-to-back shutouts in his previous two games. In 11 games this season, he has 7-4-0 record along with a 1.82 goals against average, a .943 save percentage and two shutouts.
Defenseman Chad Ruhwedel is scheduled to be in the lineup as well. He skipped Tuesday’s practice in Cranberry as a precaution due to an illness. Coach Mike Sullivan labeled Ruhwedel as “fine” prior to the game. During warmups, Ruhwedel skated on a pairing with Marcus Pettersson.
In seven games this season, Ruhwedel has three points (one goal, two assists).

• Defenseman Juuso Riikola will serve as the Penguins’ lone scratch.
• Jarry, a native of Surrey, British Columbia, is expected to face Canadiens goaltender Carey Price, a native of Anahim Lake, British Columbia. In 24 games this season, Price has a 12-0-3 record along with a 3.04 goals against average, a .902 save percentage and one shutout.
• Canadiens forward Riley Barber, a native of Washington, Pa., is expected to make his season debut. Recalled from Laval of the American Hockey League on Monday, Barber was a sixth-round pick of the Washington Capitals in 2012 and has only three games of NHL experience on his resume.
