A 21-year-old man was treated and released from a hospital after he was shot at an elementary school football field in Carnegie early Sunday, according to Allegheny County Police.

The shooting was reported just after midnight, when Carnegie police were called to the 600 block of Ross Avenue for an underage house party. As officers responded to the scene, they were informed that a man had been shot.

Police and paramedics found the victim in the 900 block of Charles Street Extension suffering from a gunshot wound to the back and arm.

He was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

According to police, the victim and others left the house party after they found out police were arriving and walked to the Carnegie Elementary football field.

At the football field, they encountered three unidentified black males. An altercation took place, and the victim was shot during the altercation, police said.

There was no motive nor suspects as of Sunday afternoon.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
