The president and CEO of Zambelli Fireworks, Tom Bametzrieder, has resigned, according to a statement from the company.

“We thank him for his service and wish him luck in his future endeavors,” Ed Meyer, a managing partner at Zambelli, said in a statement.

The company did not provide further details explaining Bametzrieder’s departure.

Bametzrieder joined the company in 2017, according to a statement from the company. He could not immediately be reached for comment.

Members of the Zambelli ownership group will handle leadership responsibilities until the company names a new CEO, the statement said.

“Zambelli has the strategic direction to maximize our resources, our employees and our great history of success in this demanding industry,” the statement said. “Our task now is to find a leader to take our team to the next level.”

Zambelli moved its headquarters from New Castle to the Cranberry area in 2018 for a more “efficient and flexible work space,” the company said at the time.

The company, which put down roots in New Castle in 1893 when Antonio Zambelli emigrated from Italy, still operates a fireworks warehouse in Edinburg, Lawrence County.

Zambelli produces more than 1,600 shows per year, according to figures provided by the company.
