The Pittsburgh Pirates added Kevin Kramer to the roster Thursday before their game against the Miami Marlins at PNC Park.

Kramer, the Pirates’ second-round draft choice in 2015 after top pick Kevin Newman, hit .260 with 10 home runs, 30 doubles and 54 RBIs for Triple-A Indianapolis this season. He split time among second and third base, shortstop and left and right field, even playing a game at first base and nine others as the Indians’ designated hitter.

Earlier this season, Kramer, 25, appeared in one game for the Pirates, walking as a pinch-hitter and scoring a run July 6 against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Last season, he was 5 for 37 with the Pirates, driving in four runs in 21 games.
