Both northbound lanes of Route 51 in West Mifflin and a southbound lane remained closed Thursday night as crews fixed a water main break.

Gary Lobaugh, spokesman with Pennsylvania American Water, said crews are repairing a break on a more than 50-year-old water main between Mall Drive and the Denny’s Restaurant.

Lobaugh said water was restored to the 11 customers affected by the break just before 2:30 p.m.

One southbound lane of traffic remained open.

The break happened just after 4 a.m., a West Mifflin police dispatcher said.
