Dogs can beat the heat this evening in North Park at the Dog Days of Summer swimming party.

Hosted by the Allegheny County Department of Parks and Recreation, the free event is an opportunity for four-legged friends to splash in a puppy pool and participate in some fun and games.

The non-profit rescue group PAWS Across Pittsburgh will be giving away treat bags and WISH 99.7 radio’s Sweet Treat Patrol will be on hand.

The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the park’s off-leash area along Pearce Mill Road.
