Two teens were shot, one critically, while they were walking to a convenience store Monday night in Homestead, according to Allegheny County police.
The shooting was reported shortly before 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Street.
When Homestead police and paramedics arrived, they found two 17-year-old boys with gunshot wounds to their chests. Both were taken to a local trauma center.
As of Tuesday morning, one was listed in stable condition. The other was listed in critical condition, police said.
Allegheny County police homicide detectives said the two teens were walking to a local convenience store when they were shot at. Witnesses told police they saw a silver SUV fleeing the area at the time of the shooting.
Detectives are working with Homestead police to determine a motive and identify suspects.
