The Pittsburgh Youth Chorus will host its annual “Summer Singers” day camp Aug. 5-9 at the Pittsburgh Opera headquarters in the city’s Strip District neighborhood.

The camp is for children ages 7-10, and will teach fundamental vocal skills along with hosting fun activities and special guests.

Children are encouraged to share their musical talent and learn to be an attentive audience member through daily “Break Time Recital.” The camp includes a number of themed days.

At the end of the week, parents are invited to a demonstration to learn about the week’s activities.

Cost is $275. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.

On the Friday after the demonstration, auditions will take place for children interested in placement in the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus.
