Palmer Jackson captured the 46th C.R. Miller Match Play Invitational title Tuesday by breezing to victories in the semifinals and finals.

The Franklin Regional graduate and Notre Dame recruit defeated Riverside’s Skyler Fox, 6 & 5, in the semifinals, and then rolled to a 7 & 6 win against Elizabeth Forward’s Angus McHolme.

Jackson drew a first-round bye at Latrobe Country Club on Monday and then beat Shane Kelley in the quarterfinals. It was Jackson’s third title in the event.

Jackson tied for second place at West Penn Amateur with friend Mark Goetz and Fox Chapel’s Jack Katarincic last week.

Peters Township’s Connor Schmidt won the 119th WPGA Amateur.

Uniontown’s Danae Rugola, a Youngstown State commit, defeated Paige Scott, 1 up, to win the girls match play invitational.
