One month after rejecting bids that went over budget, Bridgeville Borough Council approved a trimmed 2019 road program.

Borough council approved a bid from Victor Paving & Construction for $120,825 for the project. Victor’s was the lowest of four bids. In the 2019 budget, borough council allocated $150,837, including engineering fees, for road paving. The lowest bid the borough received last month was $196,768. The project was trimmed by eliminating 1,200 feet of paving on Terrace Street. The bid was awarded unanimously, though council member Bruce Ghelarducci was absent from the meeting.

• Borough council also unanimously appointed the firm Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering to continue as borough engineers. Lennon, Smith, Souleret was appointed interim engineer when borough council terminated a contract with Gateway Engineers.
