Pittsburgh Musical Theater is filling its 2019-2020 season with classic musical theater and bringing back a cult favorite.

The 28th season continues production at both the Byham and Gargaro Theaters.

The Byham Theater Series will include two family-friendly shows.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” as part of the annual collaborative with the CAPA orchestra, will be presented Oct. 24-27.

The ever-popular “The Sound of Music” runs March 5-15, 2020.

Now in its third year, the Rockin’ West End Series at the Gargaro Theater brings back “Evil Dead the Musical” to kick off its season Sept. 27-Oct. 19.

“Hair” will take theater goers back to the 1960s from Jan. 23-Feb. 2.

The season closes with a local regional premiere, the musical adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, “Twelfth Night,” April 30- May 10.

The annual season preview, “Broadway at the Overlook” at the West End Elliot Overlook, is planned for 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4-8.

Free and open to the public, this event features both Pittsburgh Musical Theater’s professional artists and Richard E. Rauh Conservatory students.

Ticket and season subscriptions are available.
