2 teens shot near daycare on Pittsburgh’s North Side

Two teens were shot Wednesday afternoon on Norwood Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood, police said.
The shooting was reported at 2:30 p.m. and was initially for a person shot in the 2600 block of Norwood. But when police arrived they found two teens had been shot.
Police didn’t release their names but said one of the victims was in critical condition while the other one was in stable condition at area hospitals.
The shooting happened in the same block as Angel’s Place daycare.
“It definitely was not a typical day,” Beth Banas, a spokeswoman for the daycare said. “We were all safe inside. The police did an amazing job.”
No children were hurt and the center’s emergency procedures were followed, Banas said.
Police are investigating what led up to the shootings.
