The Pitt football team landed its ninth recruit for the Class of 2020 when three-star running back Henry Parrish Jr. made a verbal commitment Wednesday, according to his Twitter account.

When Parrish enrolls next year, he will be the fourth Florida running back on the roster, joining current junior A.J. Davis and incoming freshmen Daniel Carter and Vincent Davis. He is also the third Florida player in Pitt’s recruiting class, following defensive ends Emmanuel Belgrave and Sam Williams.

Parrish totaled 2,016 all-purpose yards and 32 touchdowns last season, leading Columbus (Miami) to the Class 8A state title. He has 17 scholarship offers, and he chose Pitt over Florida State, Penn State, West Virginia, Michigan, Syracuse, Tennessee, Wake Forest and Miami.

He is the sixth player to commit from a group of more than 20 prospects that visited over the weekend.
