With three of golf’s four major championships — The Masters, PGA Championship and U.S. Open — completed, one final title remains to be decided at the Open Championship.

The winner of the major known for decades as The British Open — “The champion golfer of the year” — gets the Claret Jug, which has been a part of golf folklore since 1872. Now, the coveted carafe can be seen locally.

The venerable trophy will be on display at Grand View Golf Club in North Braddock from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on June 24 as part of a nationwide tour ahead of the 148th Open Championship.

The Open is set for July 18-21 at Royal Portrush Golf Club on Northern Ireland.

Another area venue, Topgolf Pittsburgh, also is on the schedule of stops that include Denver, Chicago, Orlando and New Jersey.

Spectators can take photos with the trophy and adults can sample a new Loch Lomond scotch as part of the Jug tour.

Italy’s Francesco Molinari won the Open last year at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus, Scotland.
