Knapp, Zachetti win WPGA senior event; Shieds wins Tam O’Shanter Open

Sean Knapp prepped for the Sunnehanna Amateur, which begins on Wednesday, by winning the WPGA Senior Series event at Hannastown Golf Club, Greensburg on Monday.

The Oakmont resident shot an even par 70 to edge Don Dubyak, who shot a 3-over 73.

Knapp and Brady Pevarnik finished fourth in the Westmoreland County Better-Ball on Saturday at Hannastown.

Greensburg’s Vince Zachetti won the Super Senior event by shooting an even par 70. He edged Joe Cordaro, who fired a 2-over 72.

The Tri-State PGA Tam O’Shanter Open was won by Pittsburgh’s Kevin Shields, who shot a 5-under par 67 at Tam O’Shanter Golf Course in Hermitage.

James Cichra and Michal Derry tied for second with a 2-under par 70.
