Officials called for a helicopter to medically transport a man who crashed his motorcycle in Belle Vernon near Sweeney Plan on Saturday.

“There’s one male down on the road, they requested a helicopter,” said a Westmoreland County 911 dispatcher, referring to emergency personnel.

The crash, which happened on the 1500 block of Rostraver Road, was reported just before 7 p.m., the dispatcher said.

The motorcycle driver was the only person involved in the crash, he said, and the road was not closed to traffic.
