Joe Boros looks to defend Tri-State Open title

Treesdale Golf and Country Club director of instruction Joe Boros shot a 5-under par 67 during the final round and held off two golfers to capture the 2018 Tri-State Open at Williams Country Club.

Boros finished at 5-under for the tournament as he held off Shawn McCall and amateur Andy Butler, who each shot finished at 4-under.

Boros is back to defend his title in the two-day event that starts Monday at Chartiers Country Club.

There are 96 players in the field, which will be trimmed to the low 60s and ties for the final round Tuesday.

The field includes former champion Bob Ford, McCall, Kevin Shields, Rob McClellan, Jim Cichra, John Aber and amateurs Kevin Fajt, Jimmy Ellis and Rick Stimmel.
