Indiana Borough police are seeking a 28-year-old man accused of stealing a safe containing about $5,000 from a local screenprinting business and dumping it into a storm water pond.

A felony warrant was issued for Raymond C. Spencer of Indiana, who police said entered S&S Screenprinting through a window on May 20 and took a large safe and a dolly.

Investigators recovered the safe from a retention pond on the 1400 block of Washington Street with the help of the Blairsville Volunteer Fire Department’s dive team. The safe was damaged and a large compartment was empty.

Spencer is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief and receiving stolen property.

He is believed to be in the Ohio area, according to police. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 724-329-2121.
