2nd annual Officer Brian Shaw Memorial Scholarship Ride & Event set for Aug. 11

The second annual Officer Brian Shaw Memorial Scholarship Ride and Event is scheduled for Aug. 11 at the Pittsburgh Shrine Center in Harmar.

Shaw, a Lower Burrell resident and a New Kensington police officer, was 25 years old when he was shot and killed during a traffic stop in 2017 in New Kensington.

Registration for the ride starts at 8:30 a.m., Aug. 11., at Pittsburgh Shrine Center, 1877 Shriners Way.

Kickstands go up at 10 a.m.

Registration includes a T-shirt, poker chip and event admission.

The Shaw Memorial event will celebrate the police officer’s life. It will run from noon until 4 p.m. including live entertainment, food, beverages and games.

Cost is $10 to just attend the event.

Proceeds benefit the Officer Brian Shaw scholarship fund.
