North Hills’ spring musical ‘Tuck Everlasting’ receives 8 Kelly nominations

North Hills High School’s spring musical “Tuck Everlasting” has garnered nominations in eight categories for the annual Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater.

The show, which was performed at the high school in March, was nominated for:

• Best Musical

• Best Scenic Design

• Best All-Student Orchestra

• Best Crew/Technical Execution

• Best Execution of Choreography

• Best Execution of Music Direction

• Best Execution of Direction

• Best Supporting Actor — Tyler Dumas

Patterned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, the Pittsburgh CLO’s Kelly Awards will be presented at 7:30 p.m. May 25 at the Benedum Center.

In addition to performances and the more than 20 Kelly Awards that will be presented at the event, several cash and university scholarships will be announced. For tickets, call 412-456-6666.

The winners of this year’s Best Actor and Best Actress awards will travel to New York City to represent Pittsburgh in the Jimmy Awards on June 24.
