Pitt gets verbal commitment from Georgia wide receiver Jaylon Barden

On the night when several former Pitt players started chasing their NFL dream, coach Pat Narduzzi received a verbal commitment from a rising high school senior.

Jaylon Barden, a three-star wide receiver from Macon Ga., announced on his Twitter account that he plans to enroll next year.

Barden, 6-foot, 175 pounds, has 16 scholarship offers, including three from Power 5 schools Pitt, Indiana and Kentucky. He a member of the Rivals.com Georgia Top 130, coming in at No. 101.

Pitt has three commitments from the class of 2020, including pledges from offensive lineman Michael Statham of Baltimore and defensive end Samuel Williams of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

During and after the NFL Draft on Saturday, six former Pitt players found themselves headed to pro camps, including two-time 1,000-yard running back Qadree Ollison, who was selected in the fifth round by the Atlanta Falcons.
