Some patients at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh couldn’t believe their eyes when they looked outside to see Batman, Superman, Spiderman and Captain America washing windows at the Lawrenceville hospital on Wednesday.

“Are they real?” one boy asked his mother as Batman, with his black cape flapping in the wind, applied soap to a window and washed it away.

The visit marked the 14th time that workers from Allegheny Window Cleaning Inc. in Springdale donned the comic book costumes as they rappelled down the 12-story building to clean its exterior windows.
