In an attempt to slow down motorists driving around three of its elementary schools, Norwin will spend $6,200 to install eight speed bumps at those schools this summer.

The school board on April 15 awarded Brant’s Asphalt LLC of Hempfield the contract to install four speed bumps at Stewartsville Elementary School and two each at the Sunset Valley and Hahntown elementary schools, all of which are in North Huntingdon.

The project will require cutting out parts of the roads and installing the speed bumps. The work is to be finished by Aug. 5.
