Officials challenged Etna and Sharpsburg volunteers to spruce up their respective boroughs, with the winner claiming rights to the inaugural Earth Day Mayor’s Cup on April 13. In the end, both groups filled a 30 cubic yard dumpster, though Sharpsburg won this category, because its container was a little more full. The two boroughs tied, overall.

Etna had 107 residents, 102 non-residents, for 209 volunteers total. Sharpsburg brought 59 residents, 75 non-residents, for 134 total.

Judges were Anita Prizio, Sara Innamorato, Lindsay Williams and Wayne Fontana.
