A reward is being offered to anyone with information in a fatal February shooting in Homestead.

Tre-Quan Embry, 22, of Homestead, died of a gunshot wound to the head at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh’s Uptown.

The shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. Feb. 2 in the area of 311 East 17th Street, according to police.

Minutes before the shooting, a local police officer saw Embry walking where he was eventually shot, investigators said. Embry’s mother said Embry, who lived on 17th Street, had told her that he was leaving the house. Within a minute after Embry left the residence, she heard several gunshots.

Embry was shot twice in the head and once in the thigh, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers at 412-255-TIPS (412-255-8477). A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading police to the arrest and prosecution of the individual wanted for the homicide. Callers may remain anonymous.
