A three-alarm fire early Friday morning in Ross Township caused significant damage to a two-story home, according to authorities.

Multiple fire departments responding to the blaze shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of Peoples Road encountered heavy smoke pouring from the frame structure.

Peoples Road between Ivory Avenue and Nelson Run Road was closed for several hours but was reopened to traffic.

Two men living in the home were able to escape unharmed, according to police.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control shortly before 8:30 a.m.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
