Traffic along Hite Road in Springdale and Harmar townships will be reduced to a single lane in each direction beginning Monday as crews make preparations for a bridge repair project near ramps to and from Route 28, PennDOT said.

The lane restrictions will start at 8 a.m. and continue around the clock through April 19 between Pillow Avenue and Hill Top Lane, according to PennDOT.

Crews will be removing the center concrete mountable curb to prepare for the work.

PennDOT officials previously said the project will result in one full closure to occur on a weekend. That date hasn’t been set.

The work is being done by Swank Construction as part of a two-bridge project totaling nearly $7 million.

The other project is on Butler-Logan Road in Frazer. Work is expected to continue through the end of September.
