Nightly lane and ramp closures on the Homestead Grays Bridge connecting Pittsburgh and Homestead will begin Monday at 10 p.m.

The bridge preservation work, which is supposed to last until early June, is required for structural steel repairs, barrier and deck repairs, and asphalt paving with line painting.

The bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. There will be alternating lane closures, so drivers should be alert for changing traffic patterns.

The West Fifth Avenue ramp and the East Fifth Avenue ramp, coming to and from the Waterfront retail area will be closed separately during the project. When they are closed, it will be between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Mondays through Fridays and a detour will be posted.

Pedestrian access to the bridge will be allowed throughout the project.
