A former Slippery Rock University women’s basketball player won her debut events on NBC’s “The Titan Games.”
Kara Lazauskas, who played for The Rock from 2009-12, debuted on the show Feb. 14, which is hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Thursday nights.
She cruised to victory against opponent Breona Evans in the “Off the Rails” competition.
Upon winning the round, she embraced Evans, whose boyfriend proposed to her after the match, and congratulated her.
Lazauskas then finished off Shannon Decker with a runaway victory in the “Mount Olympus” obstacle course.

According to Slippery Rock, Lazauskas’ success is “extraordinary” because of the obstacles she’s had to face throughout her life.
During her childhood, she had a tumor in her left lung, which subsequently had to be removed. She was told she’d never be able to compete as an athlete, SRU reported.
Despite that, she became a standout hooper in New Jersey and ended up playing at the collegiate level when she signed a Letter of Intent with Slippery Rock in 2009.
A string of ACL surgeries phased her off of the court and she transferred out of SRU.
Lazauskas’ victory sends her to the next round of competition on the series where she will compete as one of eight female “Titans.” That round is slated to air on NBC on Feb. 21.
The winning female Titan will receives $100,000.
